Make work a happier place for yourself

Being at work is a major part of our lives. We all feel pressure in our jobs which can lead to stress that can subsequently stay with us when we’ve left the office. There is no prescription cure to resolve stress and other issues such as work related anxiety, but there are a few steps we can all take to improve our mental health at work.

This week in our Dublin office, we had a special edition ‘Speakeasy’ (our version of ‘Toastmasters’) where the topic of choice was ‘The women that inspire me’. Our colleagues, both male and female, spoke eloquently about the women that have made an impact on their lives. It was powerful to hear the personal stories from our colleagues about the mothers, sisters, female family and friends that continue to inspire and shape their world.

When the idea for our group CSR initiative was first shared, I have to admit the sheer scale of it was daunting. But now it’s in full swing, and progressing so well, it’s hard to imagine Morgan McKinley without it. First and foremost, it has delivered the goods for great charitable organisations, both in terms of real cash, and quantifiable, direct value of time and effort given by Morgan McKinley employees via literally thousands of hours of volunteering.  

But it’s also delivered something quite remarkable
