UK Calling for Graduates

Morgan McKinley are looking for talented, ambitious graduates of any subject for exciting careers in the recruitment industry.

The recruitment industry is one of the most lucrative and desirable sectors to work in. If you are confident, good at dealing with people and hard working, then you are perfect for this job!

We are looking for that next generation of talent to join our teams and move the company forward. We have many years of experience in taking applicants with potential and turning them into successful recruitment consultants; six out of our ten top billers joined the business as trainee recruitment consultants!

Our approach isn’t like the normal recruitment companies and job boards. Instead of simply sending your CV out to employers, we actually spend the time to prepare and develop you for the role before you interview. We ensure you know what to expect in the recruitment industry, from making a good impression at interview to how it all works when you get the role.

Below are a few top tips for your CV to help guide you in the process when applying for graduate jobs:

Concision

Your CV should generally say one thing: why you're a good fit for the particular job you are applying for. If you're applying for a Graduate Recruitment Consultant role, you need to prove that you're a capable, professional candidate who has the drive and ambition to work in a sales-driven role.

Education & Experience (directly related to the role you are applying for)

Unless you are applying for quite literally exactly the same job with the same skillset and requirements, every CV you send to employers should be unique and tailored to the role and company. It might come as a surprise to you that recruiters spend just thirty seconds on every CV they receive. They have many CVs to filter through and thanks to the ubiquity of graduates at this time of year, plenty of options to choose from. If your CV doesn't start off with a list of education, experience and achievements directly relevant to the position you're applying for, you will sadly not be spared a second viewing.

Perfect grammar, spelling and punctuation

Literally. Don't forget to check over your cover letter too!

Proof

You're an 'ambitious salesperson with a brilliant work ethic and a fantastic track record'... This is all very good but where are the numbers to back this up?
How many donations did you secured while working for your university telethon? How big were the crowds attending your ticketed student club nights? How great are you at are using numbers?

Links

Everyone should have a clickable link to their LinkedIn on their CV.

So, if you’re interested in getting into recruitment, please send your CV to Katie Instone, Talent Acquisition Specialist, or give us a call.  We look forward to hearing from you!
