Make 2015 the year of giving back

So how many of us made New Year’s resolutions in January?

How many of us have still stuck to them now that it is February?

As I sit at my desk late on a Thursday evening writing this blog, I think how easy it is to get caught up with running a busy desk and having a hectic home life, and how easy it is to forget about some of those resolutions.

One of mine was to give something back to the community and society in general; this was following on from Morgan McKinley’s partnership with Odyssey House last year. Odyssey House is an amazing charity that helps people that have had addiction problems and are looking to turn their lives around.

At the end of last year, myself and two of my colleagues travelled from our city offices to Campbelltown and spent an afternoon coaching people how to write their CV’s and some basic interview techniques - hopefully this has helped some of them secure jobs and continue on that road of rehabilitation.

So now I am thinking, what’s next? What can the Projects & Change Management team do to help those less fortunate than ourselves? We have committed as a team to do two charity days in the near future where we can volunteer our service in order to help others. We are hoping to be able to partner with these organisations on an on-going basis and are currently looking at the RSPCA, Cancer Council or The Guide Dog Society.

If you have charities that you would like to suggest we partner with, then it would be great if you can share these with me!
