International Interns

The recruitment industry holds a wealth of roles and careers choices, it’s not just recruitment consultants who make up the industry.

From roles within compliance (read our Internal Compliance Manager blog here), to building your career in HR or working in marketing, there’s a role for everyone, including interns. Have a read of what our intern,  Adam Nguyen, in Sydney had to say about their internship.

When I look back at the four months I spent as an intern at Morgan McKinley, “valuable” is an understatement used to describe the people I have met and the things I have learned.

I began my journey as a person who had little knowledge of the corporate world.

I would ask myself: “What is it like to work for a HR firm? What are the tricks of the trade to ace interviews? What do employers really look for in potential employees? How can I learn to network?” Four months later, I guarantee that an internship with Morgan McKinley holds the answer to all those questions.

At Morgan McKinley, you will be working in an environment that differs from the stereotypical, cubical-based office. Researchers, consultants and interns alike occupy the same workspace. No matter how junior or senior you are, everyone is treated equally and that’s what makes Morgan McKinley so unique. The managing director could be working beside you.

The office is filled with down-to-earth, friendly and helpful work mates.  You could strike up a conversation with any member of the office and it would be one worth remembering. You could ask anyone for help and you would learn more than you ever thought.

The opportunities provided in the internship allow you to shadow the consultants in interviews, perfect your resume, learn more about the industry of your choice and expand your network. These are undoubtedly vital for anyone; from the first year university student searching for his or her path, to the graduate looking to nurture their career.  What better way to find out how to better your career than to learn from the people that know best?
