Legal and Compliance Support Associate

We are seeking a detail-oriented Compliance Associate to join our team. This role is central to maintaining our high standards of regulatory adherence and operational integrity. You will support the end-to-end compliance lifecycle, from onboarding new partners to maintaining our external-facing trust portal.
The ideal candidate will have a strong legal background and the technical aptitude to manage our Vendor Management System (VMS) and other digital compliance tools.
Key Responsibilities
Due Diligence & Client Requests: 

• Inbound Requests: Act as the primary point of contact for completing client due diligence requests accurately and promptly. 
• Global Collaboration: Partner effectively with cross-function teams and tools across different geographies to gather the technical and operational information required for client submissions. 
• Deadline Management: Manage timelines to ensure client queries are met within agreed SLAs 
• Knowledge Management: Develop and maintain internal “cheat sheets” and knowledge bases to ensure response consistency and efficiency across the team. 

Vendor Due Diligence & Onboarding 

• Risk Assessment: Support the onboarding of new vendors by conducting initial and ongoing due diligence assessments.
• Vendor Monitoring: Support ongoing monitoring of existing vendors 
• Reporting: Prepare clear summaries and reports on vendor risk and performance for management review.

Regulatory Tracking & Document Control:

• Monitor review dates for all internal policies, procedures to ensure they are reviewed at agreed intervals by the relevant business owner.
• Update a centralised regulatory compliance tracker to monitor obligations across various jurisdictions.

Vendor Management System (VMS) & Trust Portal:

• Act as a lead user for our VMS, ensuring all vendor data is accurate and categorised correctly.
• Build out and maintain our "Trust Portal" page within the VMS to showcase our security and privacy posture to external stakeholders.

Operational Support:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with business controls.
• Support audits by gathering necessary documentation and records.

Qualifications & Requirements
Background:
Required: Legal background with experience in a similar compliance or legal operations role.
Highly Preferred: Qualified compliance professional or qualified lawyer.
Technical Skills: 

• Proficiency with technology and a strong ability to learn new software, specifically Vendor Management Systems (VMS).
• Experience using digital tools for task management and compliance tracking.

Knowledge Base:

• Strong understanding of regulatory, security, and privacy controls (e.g., NIST, GDPR, ISO27001).
• Familiarity with the legal aspects of Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Data Processing Agreements and Records of Processing Activities.

Soft Skills:

• Exceptional ability to manage time, prioritise tasks, and own responsibilities independently.
• Clear and concise communication skills for drafting reports and summaries.
