Visa Update: Salary threshold drops to $80K for recruitment consultants!

The stringent visa sponsorship requirements for recruitment consultants have just been relaxed, making it easier for both sponsoring companies, and for recruitment consultants who are looking for new opportunities in Australia.

Up until last week when legislation changes were passed, recruitment consultants had to be paid an annual income of $90,000 (subclass 482 - Temporary Skill Shortage visa) making it harder for companies to hire international talent, and therefore reducing opportunities for experienced consultants to find or change roles.

 

This new salary threshold still encourages the upskilling of Australian talent, while providing organisations the opportunity to engage international talent (within or beyond Australia) for a dedicated period of time.
