Part One: Want to work in recruitment? 3 things to know

Quite often when I’m interviewing candidates who are interested in joining Morgan McKinley as a recruitment consultant, the top 3 factors that are most important for them to find out are:

  • Morgan McKinley’s company culture – is it an open plan office? How easy is it for new joiners to voice ideas and feel like they are heard?
  • The managers/leaders at Morgan McKinley – what’s their potential manager going to be like? What’s their management style like? How experienced are they in their field/discipline?
  • Career progression – how do you know when you will move up? Is the career path clear? Is there mandatory training and/or targets that I need to hit in order to progress?

In today’s blog, I’ll look at Morgan McKinley’s company culture. The company culture at Morgan McKinley has a lot to do with our vision – People empowered to serve, to specialise and to lead as well as our values – Always committed, always communicating, always embracing change and always building trust.

We are looking for people who are passionate about a career in recruitment, who want to become a specialist or knowledge expert in a discipline and who really want to set themselves apart from all the other recruitment consultants in the market.

All our offices are open plan – everyone sits on the same floor. Directors, Senior Managers, Consultants, Associate Consultants. You should always feel comfortable about approaching someone more experienced than you in the business and ask them for advice or guidance if you are having difficulty.

One of our core values is “Always embracing change” which means that we encourage and welcome any new ideas that can improve the way we do recruitment. If you spot a new idea for a networking event or even something that we can do as a business to support a charity – fun run, bake sale, casino night, we are keen to hear your ideas!

We have a very collaborative team culture, excellent cross selling across teams, individual commission, smaller specialist recruitment teams which means you get more of the market to work and zero office politics. If you would like to know more about what it is really like to work at Morgan McKinley in any of our global offices, get in touch with one of the members of the Talent Acquisition team today!
