Hong Kong Hedge Fund Fight Night

“Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee” Muhammad Ali

Nick Lambe represented Morgan McKinley Hong Kong at the Charity Hedge Fund sector Boxing event in Hong Kong and fought against Deutsche Bank’s Jim “All in” Aldworth.

The Hedge Fund Fight Nite is an annual event that takes 45 - 50 amateur boxers from professional industries in HK with limited boxing experience and puts them through a gruelling 4 month training regime to get them ready for the fight night.

The participants are gradually reduced down over the months through fitness and technical boxing tests to deliver the chosen few to the ring to fight against an opponent in front of 400 peers, colleagues and friends. The night itself raises money for the designated Asian based charities of Operation Breakthrough and Operation Smile.

Walking into the ring, Nick “Wham Bam” Lambe enters to a cheering crowd while the speakers blast out music bringing a rush of adrenaline to the audience. The fight only lasted a matter of minutes, with each minute filled with adrenaline, nerves and pure concentration from each of the boxers. The fight night was covered by multi-national publications such as Bloomberg, Reuters and Sky.
