Fast Track your Career with the Morgan McKinley Fast Track Academy

When I speak to candidates one of the key questions most people ask is about the training and career development we offer at Morgan McKinley. Unlike other careers there is no standard training program for Recruiters, therefore it can be a minefield if you are new to the industry, trying to decipher which businesses are able to offer the support you need to set you up for success.

At Morgan McKinley we have a centralised global training team, so whether you are based in the UK, Ireland or APAC or you will receive the core Academy training. In the UK over the past 6 months we have devised and implemented additional bitesize sessions to dig into the real detail of the role of a high performance recruiter.

Our 13 week Fast Track Academy is suitable for those that have come straight out of university with some basic sales experience right through to career changers with 10+ years in industry.

For the first 5 weeks, we have broken the training down into core sessions on Monday’s followed by 1 hour bitesize sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesday’s and Thursday’s. We have a blended approach to learning, both virtual, face-to-face, online using our E-learning platform, The Knowledge Hub and  you will be supported by your very own business coach. The training schedule allows you time away from your desk to focus on learning and then ample time on the job to put the training to practice.

This is the overview of the course content you will receive on the MMK Fast Track Academy:

  • How to build candidate relationships (including the psychology behind communicating with different personality types)
  • How to source top talent using LinkedIn and LinkedIn Recruiter
  • How to write an attractive job advert
  • How to write a candidate spec to a client
  • How to get the most out of a candidate registration
  • How to guide for successful candidate interviews
  • Reference training; how to take a candidate reference and how to flip the call
  • Detailed Q&A and interactive guide on how to use our CRM system
  • How to build good client relationships
  • Understanding our Terms of Business and how to discuss them with clients
  • Employment Law and Right to Work in the UK
  • How to pitch Morgan McKinley to a client
  • How to conduct a successful client meeting
  • How to create and develop your own personal brand (at work and on-line)
  • Building a business development community
  • Understanding the temp and perm recruitment cycles
  • How to negotiate fees with clients
  • How to win exclusivity
  • Sales masterclass

Each of these training sessions has been created and designed in-house, specifically enabling our Consultants to get the best possible start to their career. This is followed up by continued 121 support from individual managers, the performance director and myself.

At the end of this 13 week training programme you will have the basic skills to manage and build out your own 360 desk, understanding both the candidate and client side of the role.

Our Q3 top biller in the UK is a great example of a graduate that joined us with some sales experience, successfully graduated our Morgan McKinley Academy training programme and now after 3 years and 3 promotions has climbed to the top of the leaderboard.

And it doesn’t stop there, your career development is continuous, further training includes “Scon”, Emerging Leaders as well as career guidance for management into leadership and beyond.
