The Cultural Fit Factor

This time three years ago I had just completed my degree and I nervously approached the job market during one of the worst recessions to hit our country in generation, let’s just say I was apprehensive!

Apart from weekend and summer work I didn’t have a huge breath of experience and I believed that my only option may be to emigrate alongside many of my friends and classmates - the problem was that I had no real desire to travel. I managed to secure an interim role in sales and customer service.

Then one day I applied for a position as a graduate ‘Researcher’ advertised on the Morgan McKinley website and after intensive rounds of interviews I got the call to begin my new career. To say I was delighted was an understatement. Six months later, I had completed the Morgan McKinley graduate programme and became a consultant and now find myself in a challenging and rewarding role where no two days are the same.

The people that I work alongside make it very easy to come into work each morning. There is a shared vision and collective conscious that flows through our organisation that I believe is driven by our unique ‘cultural fit’.

We hear the phrase ‘cultural fit’ on a regular basis in our capacity as recruitment consultants from our clients, from our candidates and from Anna Maher (our talent acquisition specialist!).  Cultural fit is extremely important, and the longer I work with Morgan McKinley the more I see the merit of hiring people who believe in shared goals and values.

If you believe in something you will strive to achieve it and when you have a team of people working collectively in this way there is no limit as to what you can achieve.

Morgan McKinley has a culture of ‘going beyond’ and we approach this by focusing on four key pillars for everything we do;

  • Always Communicating
  • Always Committed
  • Always Embracing Change
  • Always Building Trust

Do these values resonate with you? Would you like to work within a high-performance team aligned to our core beliefs? Have you got the ‘cultural fit’ for Morgan McKinley?

Due to continued success our national Supply Chain desk is hiring a recruitment consultant and you don’t need recruitment experience to apply! But ideally you do need to be someone who can understand and believe in our core values and work well in a team that is focused on achieving a common goal - being specialist consultants delivering a first class service to our candidates and clients.
