The overall Group is focused on transforming and changing the Morgan McKinley organisation to support a rapidly changing global talent market.

The finance function is headquartered in Cork with further support hubs in India, Hong Kong, Shanghai and London. The function itself is sub divided into the areas of financial control and commercial finance.

Morgan McKinley is seeking a Commercial Finance Business Partner to support the continuing efforts to improve the delivery of financial leadership, support, commercial insight and advice to both the Ireland and UK leadership teams. An influential and high-profile role, you will work with Senior Executives to drive performance.

In conjunction with that, you will be responsible for supporting the interface (as opposed to day to day responsibility) between the Group Financial Control function based in Ireland and the operational side of the business based across multiple offices in Ireland and the UK in the delivery of credit control, billing, payroll services, tax planning from new initiatives and critically, timely relevant month end reporting to help Senior Management manage their businesses.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Head of Finance Partnering for Ireland and UK, the role will play an integral supporting role to the responsibilities of the commercial finance function in driving long term sustainable value for both businesses.

You will play a key role in supporting the delivery and execution of the responsibilities of the commercial finance team. The responsibilities of the commercial finance team include:

* Working closely with the Head of each business unit to make a strong strategic, commercial and operational contribution to the success of both businesses.

* Ability to create an environment in the business where all business leaders are proficient in all finance metrices that drive long term profitability and cashflow.

* Joint ownership with the COO around monthly Ops Reviews, providing succinct commentary and insight around key movements in the P&L in the month.

* Working with the Financial Reporting team to support in the provision of timely concise month end reporting packs and commentaries on actual versus prior year and budget on all key P&L line items.

* Ownership and responsibility for delivering quarterly reforecasts, annual budgets and longer term strategic financial planning and modelling for both businesses, working closely with all Business owners and Group Finance. Ensuring all targets are both challenging and achievable while providing strategic and financial guidance to ensure that financial commitments are met.

* Ownership and responsibility for the roll up of group budgets and forecasts as well as the preparation of budget / forecast presentations with succinct commentary.

* Have a detailed knowledge around external coverage of the Ireland / UK and competitor intelligence when budgets and forecasts are being set. Coupled with an ongoing tight focus on Morgan McKinley's position versus peers across a number of metrics, revenues, margin, EBITDA, cashflow contribution and key cost components of large project spend that will drive sustainable value into the long-term.

* Help drive all cost and supplier efficiency programs in conjunctions with business owners.

* Owner of the alignment of financial representation of the business in order to achieve strategic goals e.g. new business lines, new office openings etc

* Delivering proactive ad-hoc financial analysis to support BU decision making in areas such as indicative IRRs on projects/scaling and scoping finance solutions with detailed modelling as required on material project spend/pricing decisions.

* Leveraging existing detailed MI to create an integrated reporting view of what drives revenue growth and particularly bottom-line profitability in both businesses. Areas that could be investigated include;

* Profitability by region in terms of bottom line profitability and key drivers such as NFI per consultant, profitability by consultant.

* Profitability by desk/key segments

* Margin analysis by delivery model, by client and by desk

* Key owner of all revenue and substantial capital investment projects for both business units ensuring that all material decisions have been assessed with the appropriate degree of rigor across a number of areas including market opportunity/cost to build/opportunity cost/line of sight of funds/cost of capital/efficient use of capital. The ability to assess the impact of a material change in pricing on the profitability of the business will also be key here.

* Key contributor to the review team which will periodically review the performance of substantial investments previously made (Post implementation review)

* As opportunities arise provide support and leadership in the due diligence, acquisition and integration of bolt on acquisitions.

KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

* Develop and enhance through joint ownership best in class financial models with Business Owners for budgeting and performance management purposes.

* Commercial narrative with succinct commentary outlining key business developments in the month.

* Develop and help standardise decision support frameworks (e.g. investment business casing, post implementation reviews) etc.

* Ability to present compelling business plans, budgets, forecasts and influence senior decision makers at Executive and Board level.

* Act as the link between the business and finance in ensuring the smooth reporting of actuals and budget performance etc.

* Ability to communicate clearly to the Board and the Executive on key performance trends impacting the business in terms of budget performance and wider market opportunities as they arise.

Essential skills:

* Ability to build relationships and influence in a fast-paced high performing business culture whose input is proactively sought by the business.

* Detailed financial modelling and excel skills are essential to succeed in this role with the ability to design and interrogate reporting information from the data warehouse.

* Ability to work in a collaborative and pro-active manner with your Group Finance colleagues ensuring critical operational issues are surfaced and resolved in a timely manner.

* Create a skillset and environment where you are viewed as a trusted member of your business unit's senior management team

* Excellent communicator who can deal effectively with financial and non-financial people and is focused on building and maintaining excellent and challenging working relationships across multiple stake-holders at the most senior level of the organisation.

* Excellent written communication skills with experience of report preparation for senior management up to board level.

* Takes full ownership of areas of own responsibility and is totally delivery focused.

* Team player with the ability to work on own initiative.

* Highly motivated and takes a proactive approach to problem solving and is commercially minded when approaching business decisions
